Voice Lesson Policies

Effective September 16 through December 12, 2025

Each lesson must be scheduled through the program link below. The school year schedule will resume on September 16, 2025. During the school session I teach private lessons from 2 to 6pm on Mondays, 5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 11 to 5 on Fridays. When Northwestern is not in session, I often offer additional private lesson times. Remote lessons are normally only available on Mondays (Remote lessons will also be available on November 26 &27, and December 9-12.)* Lesson times open for scheduling at the beginning of each hour, exactly one calendar month in advance. So if you want to schedule a lesson on Monday, January 5 at 2pm, that time will open for scheduling at exactly 2pm on December 5 (Friday). The 3pm time on January 6 will open at 3pm on December 6, the 4pm time at 4pm on December 6, etc. I have several students vying for my time so the appointment times are normally taken quickly. Often each time is booked within the first minute it opens. Therefore, it is not unusual for the program to show no available times. However, you are welcome to keep checking the program in case someone cancels.

If you desire a remote lesson, confirm this by email or text at the time of scheduling. After a remote lesson has been scheduled and confirmed, just prior to your scheduled time (normally the evening prior), you will receive an email invitation to join a Zoom meeting. You should download the latest version of Zoom on your device (computers work better than mobile devices).

1. FEES -- $125 (USD) per lesson paid in advance using Zelle (steve@wstephensmith.com) or Venmo (@WStephen-Smith). For international students, use PayPal ($131.20 USD).

You must first enroll at the above web address before scheduling lessons. Make sure your information is current. You are normally allowed no more than five appointments on the schedule at a time. A lesson time is secured only after you receive a notice of confirmation.

3. CANCELLATIONS -- If a lesson is missed without a minimum of 48 hours’ notice, you will be expected to pay for that lesson before receiving any other lessons. Please notify me as early as possible if you will have to miss a lesson.
